Hon. Wasiu Lawal FCA served as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government for 18 months, from January 17, 2020, to July 27, 2021. During this period, he made significant strides in various areas, leaving a notable impact on the Local Government.
Other notable achievents of Hon. Lawal include building a two-classroom block with an office and store at Joga Owode, Ilogbo Ward, and the commissioning of a Marriage Registry at Agbara, along with eight lock-up shops at Ado-Odo. One of his most significant achievements was constructing a four-classroom block with an office and store for Afobaje Community in Ota. Additionally, he oversaw the construction of a retaining wall to control erosion at Koro Otun roundabout and performed palliative repairs on damaged roads. Hon. Lawal also revived the poultry farm by repairing it, rearing 500 broilers and 1,000 pullets, and procuring modern poultry cages during his tenure.
Additional accomplishments during his tenure included:
- Renovating the Chairman's office and quarters
- Constructing and installing two entrance gates at the LG Secretariat.
- Distributing 3,000 free eyeglasses across the Local Government
- Purchasing communication gadgets for the LG Information Department
- Repairing the leaking roof at the Local Government Secretariat
- Grading various community roads
- Purchasing new air conditioning units for the Chief N.A. Deinde Memorial Hall at the LG Secretariat
- Repairing abandoned Graders
- Regularly purchasing drugs for all LG Public Health Centres
- Facilitating the release of an ambulance bus and tricycle for the LG and Ilogbo Public Health Centre
- Constructing a culvert at Oba T.T. Dada Market
- Building 210 Kee Klamps and 48 lock-up shops under PPPE at Atan Market
- Facilitating the construction of an ultra-modern shopping mall with 82 units and laying its foundation
- Providing financial assistance for transformer repairs at Papa Aro Community and Ado-Odo/Ota Zonal Community office
- Sponsoring community members for training at Shasha
