Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has commended lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi for his courage in the face of adversity.
Farotimi was recently remanded in prison custody following defamation allegations brought against him by fellow lawyer Afe Babalola.
In a post shared on his personal X account, Obi revealed that he visited Farotimi on Thursday, January 2, after meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
“Yesterday, following my visit and meeting with President Obasanjo, I made time to visit my dear younger brother, Dele Farotimi. Since his return from the correctional center in Ekiti, I have not had the opportunity to meet with him,” Obi wrote.
He expressed his delight in finding the activist in high spirits and commended his unwavering commitment to advocating for a better Nigeria.
“@DeleFarotimi exemplifies courage in the face of adversity, consistently taking bold stands for good governance in our nation. I wish him a fruitful and productive year as we continue to work together toward the development of our country,” Obi added.
